Track My Hack combines a phone GPS recording with a manual training log. Record an active session, mark the type of work and save a summary alongside your horse’s exercise records.
What the phone records
While the page stays visible, GPS fixes can build a route sketch and estimates of distance and speed. The session timer tracks active recording time. Pause and resume to exclude a break; finish the session before reviewing conditions and notes.
Poor, stale and implausible GPS fixes are filtered. Pauses and gaps are not joined into an assumed route. These safeguards can reduce misleading jumps in distance, but estimates can still undercount, particularly with poor reception or tight arena work.
Mark gait and rein balance
Select the current gait and rein to record manually marked intervals. The summary includes time by gait and rein, marked gait changes and manual jump counts by rein. Unmarked intervals remain visible rather than being assigned an invented gait.
Use controls while stationary or ask a helper. A manual marker records what you enter; it is not automatic gait, rein or jump recognition.
Keep the route private
The precise GPS route and current draft stay in this browser on this device. Saving to the shared exercise log sends a coordinate-free training summary, conditions and comments. Recent saved summaries can be filtered by horse.
Export a private GPX route or full-session JSON before replacing a device draft. Those exports contain precise locations, so choose who receives them. Delete the device draft or clear site data when you no longer want it retained.
Can it record with the screen locked?
This web release supports foreground recording. It pauses when hidden or locked and also pauses after long timer interruptions. A screen wake lock is requested where supported, but cannot be guaranteed. Reliable background recording requires separate native implementation and device testing.
Does it replace a saddle motion sensor?
No saddle sensor is connected. Pocket Yard does not measure rhythm, impulsion, movement symmetry, injury risk or automatic gait recognition. Its current role is GPS estimates, manual training structure and session records.
Try a short session first
Test location permission, pause/resume, a private export and summary saving on your own phone before using it for a longer ride. Shared saving needs an internet connection. Local drafts should be kept on a trusted device.
