A daily yard plan is easier to follow when the task, horse, due date and person are recorded together. Pocket Yard gives staff a shared place to see care work and mark it complete, while owners can review the saved plan.
Make the next job clear
Use a horse name, a specific task and a due date. Assign the person responsible rather than relying on everyone reading a group message. Completed tasks remain part of the yard record; open tasks show whether they are scheduled, due today or overdue.
The home priorities panel highlights recorded care needing attention and the horses linked to those tasks. Its counts come from your saved records. No recorded task does not mean a horse has received every check it needs.
Keep changes visible between shifts
Leave a handover note when the next person needs context. Use the message board for shared yard announcements. The activity view records recent saved changes, helping the team understand who updated the plan.
Protect arena time
The shared calendar supports team events and one-hour arena bookings that start on the hour. A duplicate saved arena slot is rejected. Check the calendar before organising a session, and refresh if someone has just booked your preferred time.
Start with a small real workflow
- Add a horse record and its practical care details.
- Create a task with a due date and named person.
- Invite the relevant staff member using a private invitation.
- Have them complete the task and confirm the update appears for the owner.
- Leave a handover note for any follow-up work.
What to check before relying on it
Shared updates need an internet connection. Updates refresh while the app is open; Pocket Yard does not provide push notifications. Calendar reminder downloads are snapshots to import into your own calendar and re-export when tasks change.
Use your yard’s established emergency and horse-welfare procedures. Task records support organisation and do not replace a professional care decision.
